WHAT BRINGS YOU TO PHILADELPHIA? HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN HERE? DO YOU LIKE IT?
I’ve been in Philly since I was three years old. My aunt and uncle moved here after my uncle was transferred for work. I’ve been with them since I was only a few days old. I can’t really remember all the places I have lived in my life and so I can’t compare Philadelphia to another place. I know that I was in Boston until I was one and then we moved to Chicago until I was three. This is the longest I've been in one place. I feel pretty comfortable in Philadelphia.
SO YOU HAD A GOOD EXPERIENCE HERE?
Hmmm…well, I think so. My mother hadn’t really wanted me and so I never knew her. I think it was for the best. My mother had always been wrapped up in her youth. She was a young mother, at only twenty years old and my father was never really in my life. I've hung out with him a few times, but because he lives in France I don't get to see him that much. My mother never wanted kids and even with me out of high school she is so wrapped up in her job and she apparently doesn't have much time for me. Plus, my mother and father hate each other. Their relationship lasted a year, maybe a bit less, and they went separate ways because of their differences.
Like my uncle, my father is a businessman and they keep themselves very busy. I think I never went to France with my father because he was always at work and I wouldn't have anyone else. I did spend my summers with him, however. At least with my uncle I had my aunt to be around. My aunt and uncle took me in because my father hadn't even known about me until I was about five months. By then my aunt and uncle had custody of me and my father didn't have a stable enough job yet to take care of me.
I have had a great life with my aunt and uncle and I couldn’t ask for a better life. My experience in Philly has been great. There have been ups and downs in my life but nothing short of the usual life.
MANY PEOPLE SAY THEY FEAR THE CITY. WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF?
I am not afraid of much but I have to say I am terrified of abandonment. I’ve always felt like my mother abandoned me and I don’t want to experience that feeling ever again. The only other thing I can think of is water. I think I’ve watched “Jaws” and horror movies about monsters in lakes way too much to ever really be comfortable with large bodies of water.
WHAT ABOUT YOUR DREAMS? WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?
I don’t really know what I want to do. I really like cooking and for the time being I am in Culinary School. But I also love acting. I do a lot of improv and sometimes I audition for musicals and plays. So maybe one day I can make it as an actress.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE EXISTENCE OF FAIRY TALE CREATURES—WEREWOLVES, GHOSTS, DRAGONS, PSYCHICS—THINGS LIKE THAT?
You don’t know how many people have asked me that! Of course I believe it. To tell you the truth, I am a supe. My aunt and uncle know about my power. They call me the “animator” because I can bring inanimate objects to life. I didn’t really know about the supernatural until I was going into high school. I can’t quite remember who told me about it, but I’ve known for about 5 years.
As to what side I stand on, I couldn’t really tell you. I am constantly at war with myself. Should I be a resistor or a follower? I agree with a lot from both sides. I imagine in the near future I will finally decide. I must say, I am getting closer to being a resistor everyday. It would be nice to finally open up to the world and not have to hide myself anymore…
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF?
I think I am fairly nice. I mean I can have a bit of a grouchy side too, though. I guess I am the kind of person who is really friendly and outgoing but if you push my buttons, you’re in for a hell of a night. My anger is definitely a problem. I’ve been in plenty of fights before and I’m not entirely proud of that. But once you get to know me I don’t think I am that bad. I really like hanging out with friends and having a good time.
I also do love messing with people. The plus about my power is that I can make objects move and freak people out. It’s really entertaining.
I am a bit of a goofball but I know when I need to be mature. I had to mature earlier than most people because of how often my aunt and uncle haven’t been around while I was growing up.
THAT’S ABOUT EVERYTHING. IF YOU’LL JUST PLEASE FILL OUT THIS SHEET, WE’LL BE ON OUR WAY.
Before I really discovered my power, my aunt and uncle recalled stories of objects moving around the house, especially, when I got mad. It wasn’t until I was in high school and a girl started teasing me. It just so happened a book magically fell off of a shelf ten feet away and knocked her in the head. It wasn’t the punishment she might have deserved, but hey, she had a goose egg on her forehead for days.
After a while I just started experimenting with my ability. I was pretty bad at it at first, but over the years I got steadily better at controlling it. The only time when it got out of control was when I was angry. Bad things happen when I get angry so I always try to keep my cool.

SAMPLE POST
Larkin looked out from the roof of the loft building. She watched her aunt and uncle hop into a cab. It was their twenty year anniversary and her uncle was taking her aunt to a surprise location. Larkin couldn’t even remember the last vacation she had been on. Was it to Canada? Or maybe it had been Australia? Either way, she hadn’t been out of the state in at least four years.
Larkin closed her green eyes for a moment before the sound of laughter across the street caused her eyes to fly open. She trained her gaze on the roof of the building across from hers and watched a large group of people lounging around. Larkin rested her elbows on the small brick ledge and just watched.
Larkin absentmindedly twirled a piece of her hair around her ring finger and her black dressed camouflaged her against the dark night sky behind her. She felt weird watching the party but it wasn’t like she was doing anything that night anyway. Maybe she could have a bit of fun? It’s not like any harm would come to the partiers. So why not?
Larkin scanned the roof of the building until she settled her gaze on a beer. She waited until a man reached for the bottle and she made it gently slide away from him. She couldn’t see his facial expression but she could imagine the confused and slightly freaked out expression. He reached for the bottle again and again it moved out of his reach. No one else at the party seemed to notice the chase until he climbed over the small coffee table and it flipped, completely not of her doing. Everyone turned their heads and started laughing.

you enter a dimly lit room where a shadowed figure sits across from you with a thick file in hand. The figure’s face is indistinguishable. a hot cup of coffee made just the way you like is waiting on the table. the figure beckons for you to sit. you do. finally the figure across from you speaks.
