A warning to the people, the good and the evil, This is war. To the soldier, the civilian, the martyr, the victim, This is war. No one foresaw it coming. On All Hallows Eve, 2012, a rogue dark fae cast the spell to bring the walls down between Faerie and Earth. The rip started in Dublin, Ireland and traveled outwards across the globe within less than 10 minutes, with the army of dark fae following. Everyone on Earth was caught unaware, and overnight nearly a billion people were killed. The following two days saw the loss of power to nearly every major city on the planet, a massive influx of both dark and light fae, and the birth of what was essentially World War III – except this world war wasn’t being waged against themselves… it was a war for survival.
It's the moment of truth, and the moment to lie, The moment to live and the moment to die, The moment to fight, the moment to fight To fight, to fight, to fight!
As of the writing of this letter, it has been two months since that fateful night. Eight long, deadly weeks. At first, it was the human races (normals, shifters, and fae-descendants) and light fae against the army of dark fae. That was before they started realizing Faerie was dying. Their air slowly turning poisonous, fae began moving en masse to Earth, and that's when the sides started changing.
The fighting has lessened somewhat since the first few days, but not by much. The sides are still forming, but already there seem to be four major factions. None of which have any clear leadership either, which makes it all so much more dangerous.
To the right, To the left We will fight to the death! To the edge of the earth It's a brave new world From the last to the first
Fighting isn't the only problem either. The clash of the worlds left bits of Faerie reality hanging in our world. Nicknamed Faerie Inter-dimensional Potholes, these bits of broken reality can be anywhere from a few feet to a few miles in diameter, and while very easy to not realize it’s there until you’ve entered it, they’re much much harder to get out of. Some are stationary, and some IFPs drift around. The other danger are the creatures that have come across other than the fae. The shades are the worst: shadowy insubstantial creatures that can digest a person within a few seconds, leaving nothing but clothes and a husk the size of a piece of paper. A warning to the prophet, the liar, the honest, This is war. To the leader, the pariah, the victor, the messiah, This is war. It’s an all out war for control and survival, and Dublin is a major hub. It was the first city to fall, and it’s where the fighting has centered. The fae are still pouring in from Faerie, and it’s anyone’s guess as to what will happen. |THIS IS WAR|
